Challenge
During a period of rapid growth, the organization began experiencing database performance issues with its Microsoft SQL server. They had a small in-house IT team of just two and lacked both the bandwidth and expertise to address the infrastructure challenges they faced. The company did not have a database administrator on staff.
The organization also had concerns surrounding the security of its systems, as it handled a variety of sensitive patient health information. Not only did the company need to optimize its cloud infrastructure, it also needed to protect its information and ensure data security and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Security was top-of-mind in the wake of a data breach at one of its competitors, and the company anticipated the need for increasing support in both security and compliance once its immediate infrastructure needs were met.
The company was growing rapidly, adding a level of urgency to the need for help from an external partner.
Solution
The company initially engaged Ntirety Professional Services for database administration services as a solution for tackling its SQL performance issues. The project evolved to include a cloud migration, when Ntirety recommended the company move from their on-premises environment into the Azure public cloud. The company understood the value of the cloud, but its small IT team was stretched thin and could not undertake a migration project on its own. The company relied on Ntirety to manage and deploy the migration.
Once up and running in Azure, the company continued to grow. Ntirety grew alongside the company to manage its new cloud environment with Cloud Operations Services, Monitoring Insights, and Managed Database. As its security requirements grew, the company also turned to Ntirety for Managed Security Services including next Generation Firewalls, and Managed Detection and Response and Endpoint Protection.
Over time, the company increased its engagement with Ntirety by over tenfold.
Results
With Ntirety, the company was able to consolidate its operations by migrating infrastructure from several pharmacy locations into a centralized instance in Azure. In addition, the Ntirety Security Operations Center (SOC) monitors the network 24x7x365 providing the company with peace-of-mind that its systems are secured. The relationship continues to grow, and what began as a data project developed into a long-term partnership, through which the company relies upon Ntirety for a range of cloud, data and security services.
Because of Ntirety’s breadth of offerings across IT services, the company has been able to streamline its vendor relationships and simplify its processes. In doing so, the company can rely upon a single, trusted partner to provide the expertise and support it needs across its IT environment.
