In a new episode of ForbesBooks Radio podcast, Ntirety CEO Emil Sayegh sat down virtually with host Joe Pardavila to share experiences from his early days making a mark in the cloud computing world to what it’s been like leading an essential business through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to being the host at ForbesBooks Radio, Joe Pardavila is a well-known broadcaster, actor, writer, director, and producer born and bred in New York City. Joe was a radio personality at the legendary New York City radio station 95.5 PLJ, where he was part of their successful morning show for over 15 years with over a million listeners daily in the metropolitan area.
While at ‘PLJ he interviewed everyone from musical artists like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, and more. He also spoke with entertainers and newsmakers that include Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Mike Tyson, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, and Kim Kardashian.

Traversing Sayegh’s history as an early pioneer of cloud computing through his more than 15 years in the IT industry, Pardavila and Sayegh laugh about how archaic flash drives are in a world that operates so heavily in the cloud today. But Sayegh is quick to point out that for disaster recovery purposes, businesses should still always keep a local copy of data.
As a leader in the cloud industry, Sayegh proves to always be thinking a step ahead – even if it’s helping clients prepare for a disaster with IT solutions outside of the cloud. An equally important element when it comes to protecting data, Sayegh explains, is the human element operating the technologies.
“Are we changing our passwords? Are we using safe passwords? Are we sharing our passwords? Are we using dual-factor authentication? Are we using those in a consistent, safe way?” Sayegh asks. “Because if you’re not and you allow yourself to be hacked, then of course [the cloud] is not safe.”
Diving deeper into the growing trends of cybercriminals, Sayegh shares how hackers use personal information to attack through social engineering, phishing, and ransomware. While every individual must put forth his or her due diligence to protect personal data, teaming up with experienced cloud security partners like Ntirety gives businesses the boost needed to defend against cyberattacks.
“We have implemented the latest and greatest AI technology to prevent hackers from infiltrating our customers,” Sayegh says, explaining how leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning in combination with the human expertise make Ntirety a leader in cybersecurity.
As he shared the importance of having real people paired with these advanced technology tools and systems, Sayegh detailed his experiences leading an essential business through the COVID-19. While Ntirety’s office employees made the transition to productively working from home during quarantine, team members working at Ntirety’s 14 data centers had to diligently follow increased safety protocols to make sure clients’ systems remained up and running in-person.
“You have thousands of computers that are running in each data center so someone has to go in and unplug a computer that’s acting up, add new capacity,” Sayegh explains. “A human being has to do that.”
